The 2002 Road Scholar Tour provides an exciting and interactive event that has been sure to attract crowds to its high quality activities. The title sponsor, DaimlerChrysler, is featuring its three brands which are: the bold and powerful Dodge brand, the versatile, "Go anywhere" Jeep brand and the expressive style of the Chrysler brand. In its first year, the DaimlerChrysler Road Scholar Tour is a series of two-day events visiting 40 campuses nationwide highlighting healthy lifestyles, safety issues, technology elements as well as interactive activities for the students. The Fall 2002 semester will begin in Colorado and work its way east and then south finishing at the University of South Alabama in December. DaimlerChrysler showcases its products and services through interactive events such as:
A road course will be available to test drive some new DaimlerChrysler vehicles. Track specialists are in every vehicle to observe and monitor all test drive participants and is open to students and faculty. The course safely twists and turns the body of the vehicle which will help the student understand exactly how to react to a dangerous situation such as an accident. The course will be accompanied by information on drinking and driving for the students. Students attending the event can win prizes from Infinity Sound Systems, the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival, Tower Record coupons as well as a drawing for a two year lease on a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle.
